WHEN
April 15th and 16th, 2010

Your GMIS board has been hard at work trying to add value to your membership. As you know there are many organizations out there that cover the IT field. Jack McCoy and myself in addition to being officers in GMIS, are also on the Advisory Council for the Hartford CIO forum. At our last Advisory Council meeting, it was brought up that many of our GMIS members would not normally qualify to attend the Hartford CIO Forum, yet they would benefit greatly from attending. With this in mind, we have negotiated with Premier Event Management and SIM to allow all of our Government membership (Sorry vendors) to attend the CIO Forum at no cost. (Normally the cost is $995, and with today's budgets who in GMIS could justify this.)  In addition to the no-cost invitation, PEM has generously offered CT, RI and MA GMIS members our own special "Get Acquainted Breakfast Meeting" on the first day of the Forum. You read that correctly not only will CT GMIS be there, so will members from RI and MA.

The CIO Forum will be held on April 15th and 16th, 2010 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. We have been offered attendance to both days at no cost, however we understand that some of you can not make it both days. If you have to decide on a particular day, we recommend that you pick the 15th to attend. For a copy of the agenda, please visit: http://www.pemconferences.com/hart10home.htm .

One of the unique things about the CIO Forum is that it is a safe place to discuss your challenges without fear of it coming up later in the newspaper or elsewhere. PEM only allows 20 vendors to exhibit and is very strict on how the vendors interact with the attendees. Your name and address is never given to anyone else during and after the conference unless you give it to them yourself.

If you are interested in attending, please contact Nina Di Francisco at 508-821-7318 or via email at ninad@pemconferences.com. Be sure to tell Nina that you are a Connecticut GMIS member and remember this offer does not apply to our vendor members.

On behalf of the GMIS Board, we hope you will take advantage of this generous offer and hope to see you there.
